Dr. Hellen Amuguni

 

Dr. Hellen Amuguni (DVM MA PhD) is an Infectious Disease and Gender specialist and an Associate Professor at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. She is also the Tufts Senior Technical Lead of the USAID Emerging Pandemics Threat 2-One Health Workforce project working at the cutting edge of the One Health initiative, which combines a multidisciplinary approach and human, animal and environmental health knowledge for monitoring and prevention of current and emerging infectious diseases.  

She is the director of the Tufts Cummings-University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) One Health Collaborative grant, which emphasizes multidisciplinary training and  research. She is also the Principal Investigator of the Shevax+ IDRC Gender and Livestock innovations grant that focuses on identifying entry points and opportunities for women small holder farmer engagement in the vaccine value chain in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda in collaboration with the OHCEA network.
