Dr. Fauzia Akhter Huda, Medical Graduate and Ph.D. in Public Health, having 24 years of working experience with different tiers of the Bangladesh government’s health system, and with icddr,b. She has substantially contributed to a range of research studies with the shared objective of improving maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health (MNC&AH), and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Findings from some of her research studies have major achievements at the policy level and were instrumental in getting approval of several key recommendations.
She worked to empower researchers and program people with knowledge translation skill sets to maintain sustainable focus on knowledge translation in MNC&AH and in SRHR; this included policy brief writing course conduction and development of policy briefs. She is the member of a high level working group constituted by the MoH&FW to advice the government on programmatic and policy actions needed towards addressing some of the critical concerns related to unintended pregnancy and safe menstrual regulation services in Bangladesh.
