Aminatou Kone from Mali, works as assistant Professor in molecular Biology at the University of Sciences, Technics and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB). She has 10-years of experience in malaria drug resistance epidemiology research. She obtained a Masters degree in Parasitology at UCAD in Senegal before doing a PhD degree in Medical Sciences in Stockholm. She is one of the few women in her institution to be involved in different research projects in Mali investigating the efficacy of antimalarial drugs implemented in this country in a field context as well as empowering our research center in transferring high throughput and next generation basic research technics.
She is currently a fellow of DELTAs Africa/African Academy of Sciences for a post-doc project conducted between Mali and Senegal. She is also a member of the Organization for Woman in Sciences for Developing countries (OWSD) and is mentoring several young female students in her institution for their research carrier.
